August in Kansas City means we can expect many things: heat and humidity, school starting, and a looming Labor Day weekend that means all of the area pools will be closing. We wanted to put together a list of our favorite swimming spots so you and your family can keep cool while you still can — or need to with fall just around the corner.
Super Splash USA
Super Splash USA is one of the best kept secrets in the area. The “Finest Little Water Park in America” has three water slides, three pools, lots of shade, play areas and plenty of space to hang out. Oceans of Fun
This Kansas City classic has been a destination for summertime fun since 1982. The water park features thrills and spills for people of all ages. Schlitterbahn Kansas City
Schlitterbahn is the new kid on the block here in Kansas City. The water park features the world’s tallest water slide, the largest “tidal wave river,” and many chutes, tubes, beaches and rivers for all to enjoy. To learn more, click here.
Leawood Aquatic Center
